Sanford Laboratories has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager of Human Resources who will provide HR leadership and expertise to the Institute. The Institute’s mission is to revolutionize the applicability and power of RNA therapeutics in combating human diseases.


The successful applicant will oversee the execution of human resources policies and programs, which may include: recruitment and onboarding; employee relations; compensation; benefit planning; systems implementation. The incumbent will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer to build and administer an effective HR structure for the Institute. This position will have visibility, influence and will play a key role in the Institute’s initial growth phase.




·       Set strategy and oversee operations for the organization’s Human Resources function.

·       Establish recruitment pipelines of candidates to staff various scientific and administrative positions throughout the organization.

·       Implement appropriate and necessary policies and procedures related to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits implementation and other key areas of HR.

·       Collaborate with other organizational leadership to gain insights into the impact of HR policy and collect feedback in order to improve the employee experience.

·       Manage compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including: FMLA, FLSA, ADA, CFRA, etc.

·       Act as a first-line resource for employee and leadership questions related to employment policies and processes.

·       Partner with the CFO in the administration of payroll.




·       Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of directly related experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.

·       Demonstrated success in independently administering an HR function.

·       Strong knowledge of both state and federal employment related regulations.

·       Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, and familiarity with HR and Payroll systems (preferably Paychex).
