Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities
Join a fast pace, progressive HR function that plays a critical role in supporting a growing $1 billion-dollar medical device company. NuVasive is looking for a strategic Human Resources Manager who excels at building strong business partner relationships and leading a results-driven HR team. As a trusted advisor, you will provide strategic and operational counsel to US Commercial leaders. In this role you will have responsibility for driving HR-related actions as it relates to employee relations, organizational development, compliance, compensation, hiring, and the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
In the dynamic and highly competitive spine industry, the Commercial HR Manager has a meaningful opportunity to significantly influence business outcomes by developing and deploying strategies that help drive talent retention, recruitment, development of our employees. The HR leader in this role will lead a team of 2 HR generalists and will partner closely with business leaders and functional leads to support scaling talent and capabilities
Develops partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees consistent with business objectives
Maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture and its competition
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
Understands and implements legal requirements related to employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
Mentors and provides guidance to HR Representatives supporting the business unit through both direct and matrix reporting relationships
Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience
Requires 6+ years of broad-based human resources experience
Preferred PHR or SHRM-CP Certification
Experience supporting large commercial and/or market facing employee populations
Experience in medical device, biotechnology and/or life sciences preferred
