The HR Business Advisor (HRBA) role is designed to partner with and support employees and managers within R&D.  The position reports directly to an HR Business Partner (HRBP), though the individual will work closely across the global HRBP team, HR COEs, and HR Operations.

This hands-on advisor role will evolve rapidly as the entire HR team grows and the HR shared service function is built out.  The HRBA will be the key go-to person for all HRBP, local, and functional group needs.


Essential Functions

This role will be the main point-of-contact for most employee-related programs and issues, both for dedicated functional and local employees.
Understand the company and functional strategies to help deliver effective HR programs and operational solutions.
Provide advise and support on a wide range of HR issues to frontline and mid-level management, in keeping with employment law, our overall HR practices, and workplace culture.
Work with HRBPs to manage the implementation of all elements of our talent strategy within the functional and local groups.
Lead overall response to employee relations inquiries; conduct and manage the investigation of complaints and concerns; assess the severity of such issues; involve appropriate individuals in legal, HR, and business; and facilitate appropriate action based on policy and practice.
Educate employees and managers on policies, procedures, laws, and standards both individually and in group sessions.
Counsel and coach frontline and midlevel managers on proactive leadership and provide advice to create productive and cooperative work environments in line with Jazz values that enhance employee engagement and develop the full potential of our talent.
Collaborate with the broader HR team in the implementation of our operational and talent strategies.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
Demonstrated advising and coaching skills.
Demonstrated ability to define problems, establish solutions, and determine the optimal course of action in the context of broader organizational strategies and objectives.
Work well under pressure, meet deadlines, drive projects to completion, and manage the results.
Five-plus years of progressive HR experience; preferably working in a generalist role with accountability for employee relations and experience in at least two of the HR functional areas: performance management, rewards, learning or organizational development.
Experience working within a global organization with a focus on matrix teams and projects.
Ability to deal with confidential  and sensitive matters with high integrity
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and HR systems (preferably Workday).
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

4+ years of HR Generalist experience preferred
BS required
HR related certifications/ training (Change Management, Coaching, etc.) preferred.
