Our Newest Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an experienced Director, Human Resources to support our growing organization. This role works closely with the VP, People and Culture to drive and support the growth of our organization in the US and globally. The successful candidate has previous strategic human resources experience, as well as the demonstrated ability to develop HR programs, policies, procedures, organizational design, compensation and incentive structures, and infrastructure required to enable the organization’s growth strategy. Through strategic leadership, this role will drive, and ultimately deliver on the HR strategy for their business units. The role is responsible for championing and executing human capital programs and initiatives while supporting growth and transformation for the organization. This requires an agile individual blending strategic thinking with hands-on support who improves organizational effectiveness & design, leads change management and drives HR functional excellence. In this role, you will manage, adapt, and drive HR programs that are scalable and agile.
You are an experienced, strategic and collaborative HR leader. You have worked in both private and publicly-traded organizations, with firsthand experience scaling organizations by 30-40% including in new geographic areas. You are comfortable partnering with relevant stakeholders to develop organizational structures and by maintaining a thorough understanding of the business and organization goals.
You have developed and launched new HR and culture-related platforms and systems including but not limited to Applicant Tracking and HRIS systems. You have effectively led and designed engagement assessments and surveys, compensation and incentive structures, employee wellness initiatives and scalable career and performance management processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
-Drive the creation, development and roll-out of new programs that are designed to meet the changing needs of the organization such as establishment of ongoing engagement assessments surveys, employee wellness initiatives including physical, mental, financial, emotional, career development and compensation design
-Engage in future strategy discussions on people, skills, capabilities needed for the future; informing decision making based on people analytics, data and research
-Participate in selection process for leadership roles and their onboarding
-Partner with Talent Management and hiring managers to drive increased capabilities in global people managers to deliver improved company results
-Ensure organizational effectiveness through proper alignment of people, processes, structure, and culture with business strategies.
-Partners with EH&S and facilities in the management of all pandemic practices and requirements and office space needs
-Own the process for ensuring Employee Handbook is compliant and up to date
-Manage all compensation surveys and benchmarking against relevant comp sets
-Partner with HR manager and to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations and immigration matters as needed
-Participate in discussions with business leaders to understand current and future talent needs and create, implement, and drive a proactive recruitment strategy together with talent acquisition team
-Act as an enthusiastic ambassador for the Company’s corporate brand, values and culture
-Prepare and present detailed analytics and reports that track our talent management efforts
-Ensure scalability and sustainability of HR processes within and outside the function
-Ensures effective transfer coordination between Payroll, IT, Legal, Finance, Stock Administration, etc. in support of all HR activities.
Qualifications & Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required in order satisfactorily perform in this role.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with at least 10-12 years’ progressive experience within HR or related field
-Experience working in both publicly and private held companies, preferably in biotechnology, life sciences or high tech industries
-Proven track record of helping transformative organizations scale and build talent.
-Experience with developing and managing competitive total compensation and rewards practices
-Experience and owns the process of establishing entities and employing individuals outside of the United States
-Work with talent acquisition team and functional leaders to execute against annual hiring plan, establish metrics, and track progress against budget
-Able to understand, navigate, and design in a highly matrixed organizational structure
-You have in depth knowledge of information technology, ATS, HRIS systems
-Knowledge of federal and state statutes related to all employment matters
-Hands on experience establishing entities and employment outside of the US.
-Advanced experience in excel including pivot tables and formulas
-Excellent communication, presentation, consultative, partnership, and interpersonal skills
-Results-oriented with demonstrated critical thinking, innovation, and adaptability
-Strong project management skills including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through completion
-Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to positively communicate, and sometimes challenge, all levels in the organization in an effective manner
-Able to design strategies that are linked to business outcomes
-High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
-Strong communication, negotiation, problem solving and team leadership skills are important
-The highest ethical standards and discretion
